INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE

Mr Komulainen managed research and development projects at Anjala and Veitsiluoto paper mills in Finland until 1979 when he moved to Wärtsilä Järvenpää , where he participated in several development projects e.g. starting up a new pilot plant for coating and finishing. In 1986 Mr Komulainen joined Jaakko Pöyry Helsinki, working as a sub-consultant all over the world in engineering and consulting projects including the whole process of fastest and most modern papermaking and coating lines. He has just returned back to Helsinki from a two-year assignment for JP Management Consulting in Singapore.

MANAGEMENT AND TRAINING REFERENCES

Mr Komulainen has contributed to several publications and patents. He served as Head of Paper Technology in Tampere Polytechnic 1986-94 and as Senior Lecturer of Papermaking and Coating Technologies at Tampere University of Technology 1990-95. Mr Komulainen has acted as Member of the Board of companies related to consulting and automation in papermaking and coating e.g. Tapio Technologies. At the moment he is Member of the Board of ACA Systems Ltd and Pele Ltd.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Mr Komulainen's key qualifications are analytical trouble solving, conceptual planning, process and product development as well as training in the areas of fibres, pigments, paper chemicals, wet end chemistry, papermaking, coating, calendering and winding.

Mr Komulainen is member of Finnish Paper Engineers Association since 1971 and TAPPI since 1983.
